The B&R X20CP0483 is a balanced Compact-S controller for machines that need more program capacity and communication performance than the entry-level X20CP0482. Its 500 MHz ARM processor, 256 MB RAM and dedicated I/O processor support coordinated logic, communication and moderate motion-control tasks.
The X20CP0483 retains the 1 GB onboard flash used by the X20CP0482 but doubles both RAM and FRAM. It is therefore a practical middle option when the X20CP0484’s higher speed and 2 GB flash are not required.

FAQ
Q: When should I select X20CP0483 instead of X20CP0482?
A: Select the X20CP0483 when the project requires a faster processor, more RAM, more remanent memory or additional margin for communication and visualization tasks.
Q: How does X20CP0483 differ from X20CP0484?
A: The X20CP0484 increases the processor speed from 500 to 667 MHz, application flash from 1 to 2 GB and FRAM from 32 to 64 kB.
Q: Does the controller have an onboard CAN interface?
A: CAN availability depends on the selected Compact-S base. For example, compatible X20BBx7 bases provide an integrated CAN interface.
