The B&R X20CP0484-1 is the highest-memory Compact-S CPU in this first product batch. It combines a 667 MHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor with 512 MB DDR3 RAM, 2 GB onboard flash and 64 kB FRAM.
Its main advantage over the standard X20CP0484 is the doubled RAM capacity. This additional memory is valuable for larger Automation Runtime applications, web visualization, recipe management, communication services and machines that must retain more operating headroom for future software expansion.

FAQ
Q: Why choose X20CP0484-1 instead of X20CP0484?
A: Choose the X20CP0484-1 when the application requires more working memory. It provides 512 MB RAM compared with 256 MB in the X20CP0484.
Q: Does the additional RAM increase flash capacity?
A: No. Both variants provide 2 GB onboard flash and 64 kB FRAM. The principal difference is working RAM.
Q: Can interface capacity be changed later?
A: Interface capacity is determined by the Compact-S base. Changing from an X20BB5x to an X20BB6x or X20BB7x base can provide one or two modular interface slots.
