The B&R X20CP1583 is an entry-level Atom-based X20 CPU with a compact one-slot mechanical format. It provides Gigabit Ethernet, POWERLINK, RS232, USB and X2X Link interfaces for machine control and distributed I/O communication.
Compared with the older X20CP1484 family, the X20CP1583 offers an Atom processor, more RAM and Gigabit Ethernet. Compared with the X20CP3583, it provides similar base processing and memory specifications but only one modular interface slot, resulting in a narrower controller.

FAQ
Q: What is the main difference between X20CP1583 and X20CP3583?
A: Both use a 333 MHz Atom processor and 128 MB RAM. The X20CP1583 has one modular interface slot, while the wider X20CP3583 has three.
Q: Does X20CP1583 support controller redundancy?
A: No. Controller redundancy is not supported by this model.
Q: Is application storage built into the CPU?
A: The controller uses a removable CompactFlash card for the application. The card must be selected separately.
