The ELAU PS-5/10/20/400/00 is a PacDrive iSH power supply module for distributed servo installations. It receives the incoming AC supply and creates the common DC bus and 24VDC control supply required by connected iSH servo components.
This unit is installed at the beginning of the iSH power architecture. It can feed the downstream DB-5 distribution boxes, which then route power and control signals to connected iSH servo motors. One PS-5 can support up to ten DB-5 units when the overall current calculation and machine configuration are within the permitted limits.
Unlike an MC-4 servo amplifier, the PS-5 does not control one individual motor axis. Unlike a C400 or C600 controller, it does not execute PLC or motion programs. Its primary role is to establish and manage the common power infrastructure for a PacDrive iSH servo network.
The integrated braking resistor supports controlled dissipation of regenerative energy generated by connected servo axes. Correct DC bus sizing, protective earth wiring, supply selection, and compatible PacDrive cabling are important before commissioning.

Install the PS-5 inside a grounded industrial control cabinet.
Confirm whether the machine uses three-phase or single-phase input before wiring, because the permitted continuous DC bus current differs between the two supply configurations.
Connect compatible DB-5 distribution boxes and iSH components according to the PacDrive wiring topology. Do not treat the PS-5 as a standalone 24VDC power supply or as an individual motor drive.
Before replacement, verify the existing machine wiring, SERCOS ring configuration, DC bus connection, braking-energy requirement, and hardware reference on the original nameplate.
