The ELAU PacDrive DB-5 is a distribution box for PacDrive iSH servo systems. It is not a motion controller, inverter, or motor power supply. Its role is to distribute the shared DC bus, 24 VDC control voltage, SERCOS communication path, and inverter-enable safety signals from a PS-5 power supply or upstream DB-5 to connected iSH servo motors.
One DB-5 provides one incoming connection and four outgoing connections. This allows a compact machine to connect up to four iSH motors from one distribution point. Where a machine requires more axes, additional DB-5 units can be connected in sequence to extend the same PacDrive iSH network.
The IP65 polycarbonate enclosure makes the unit suitable for machine-mounted distribution where protected connectors and correct cable assemblies are used. It is particularly useful in modular packaging, conveying, printing, and assembly equipment where drive wiring needs to be organized outside the main electrical cabinet.
