The ATV930U22N4 is a compact three-phase variable speed drive designed for precise speed, torque and process control in industrial machinery. It provides a rated output of 2.2 kW under normal-duty conditions or 1.5 kW under heavy-duty conditions.
Compared with higher-power drive models, this unit combines a narrower 144 mm enclosure with a lighter 4.5 kg construction, making it suitable for control cabinets where installation space is limited. Its 5.6 A normal-duty output is well suited to pumps, fans and other variable-torque loads, while the 4 A heavy-duty rating supports machinery requiring greater short-term overload capability.
An integrated brake chopper enables connection to a correctly selected external braking resistor when faster deceleration or controlled stopping is required. Built-in Ethernet and serial communication interfaces simplify connection to programmable controllers, monitoring systems and industrial networks.
| Operating Mode | Motor Power | Continuous Current | 60-Second Transient Current | Recommended Load Type |
| Normal Duty | 2.2 kW | 5.6 A | 6.7 A | Pumps, fans and variable-torque loads |
| Heavy Duty | 1.5 kW | 4 A | 6 A | Conveyors, mixers and constant-torque loads |
Normal-duty mode is intended for applications with moderate overload requirements. Heavy-duty mode provides greater short-term overload capacity but requires the connected motor power to be limited to 1.5 kW.
The drive includes the following communication protocols as standard:
Two RJ45 connectors are provided for Ethernet communication, together with one RJ45 connector for serial communication. Other industrial network protocols require a compatible optional communication module and should not be listed as built-in features.
Install the drive vertically to maintain the correct cooling airflow. Recommended clearance should be maintained above and below the enclosure, particularly when multiple drives are installed in the same cabinet.
Select the operating mode according to the motor rating and load characteristics. A 2.2 kW motor can be used in normal-duty operation, while heavy-duty applications should use a motor rated at no more than 1.5 kW.
The integrated brake chopper does not replace the external braking resistor. When dynamic braking is required, resistor resistance, power rating and duty cycle must be calculated according to the motor inertia and stopping frequency.
Verify the supply voltage, motor current, grounding method, enclosure ventilation and protective devices before commissioning.
The rated motor power is 2.2 kW in normal-duty operation and 1.5 kW in heavy-duty operation.
It requires a three-phase 380–480 V AC power supply with a frequency of 50–60 Hz.
The continuous output current is 5.6 A in normal-duty mode and 4 A in heavy-duty mode at a 4 kHz switching frequency.
Heavy-duty operation provides greater overload capacity. To maintain safe thermal performance, the connected motor power is reduced from 2.2 kW to 1.5 kW.
Yes. An integrated brake chopper is provided for applications requiring dynamic braking.
No. A compatible external braking resistor must be selected separately according to the required stopping time and braking cycle.
EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP and Modbus serial communication are built in.
Yes. It supports asynchronous motors, permanent magnet synchronous motors and synchronous reluctance motors when correctly configured.
The enclosure measures approximately 144 mm wide, 350 mm high and 206 mm deep.
The standard enclosure is rated IP21 and is primarily intended for indoor cabinet installation. Outdoor use requires a properly rated external enclosure.
The adjustable output frequency range is 0.1–599 Hz. The permitted motor operating frequency must still follow the motor manufacturer’s limits.
Yes. It includes a Safe Torque Off function rated to SIL 3 when installed and configured according to the applicable safety requirements.
