The 8V1010.501-2 is a compact single-axis servo drive designed for low-voltage motion control systems using either single-phase or three-phase 110–230 V AC mains power. It delivers 2.3 A continuous current, 7.8 A peak current and a rated power output of 0.45 kW.
A key difference of this version is its partially coated circuit boards. The protective coating provides greater resistance to environmental influences than the otherwise similar standard-board configuration, making the drive suitable for industrial cabinets exposed to elevated humidity or airborne contamination.
The drive incorporates a Category C3 line filter, a 130 W continuous braking resistor and electronic safe restart inhibit. Three plug-in module slots allow the communication and encoder interfaces to be configured for the connected motor and control system.
Its ability to operate from either single-phase or three-phase 110–230 V AC distinguishes it from comparable 400–480 V versions. This makes it particularly useful for compact machines, laboratory equipment and production systems where only a 230 V supply is available.
| Model Configuration | Input Voltage | Continuous Current | Rated Power | Circuit Board |
| 8V1010.501-2 | Single or Three Phase 110–230 V | 2.3 A | 0.45 kW | Partially Coated |
| 8V1010.50-2 | Single or Three Phase 110–230 V | 2.3 A | 0.45 kW | Standard |
| 8V1010.001-2 | Three Phase 400–480 V | 1 A | 0.45 kW | Partially Coated |
The 8V1010.501-2 should be selected when the application requires a coated 0.45 kW drive operating from a 110–230 V supply. It is not a direct electrical replacement for the 400–480 V version.
The internal braking resistor provides 130 W of continuous braking power and up to 1.9 kW of peak braking power. It can absorb regenerative energy generated during normal deceleration cycles.
Actual braking capability depends on motor inertia, connected load, deceleration time and machine cycle frequency. Applications with frequent high-energy stops may require a revised motion profile or additional braking provisions.
The braking resistor must not be confused with the motor holding-brake output. The resistor absorbs regenerative energy, while the holding-brake output controls a compatible brake installed on the motor.
The drive provides three slots for plug-in modules. Compatible modules can add functions such as:
Communication and encoder interfaces depend on the installed modules. They should not be listed as built-in unless the physical modules are supplied with the drive.
Verify that the available mains supply is within the 110–230 V AC range. Do not connect this model directly to a 400–480 V supply.
The drive requires a separate 24 V DC control supply. Allow additional current when a motor holding brake is connected.
Install the drive inside a suitable electrical cabinet because its enclosure is rated IP20. Protection against dust, moisture and accidental contact must be provided by the cabinet.
The standard operating temperature range is 5°C to 40°C. Operation up to 55°C is possible only when the applicable derating and installation requirements are observed.
The maximum recommended motor cable length is 15 m. Cable shielding, grounding and routing must follow the installation instructions to maintain electromagnetic compatibility.
Before replacing an existing drive, verify the complete material number. The 110–230 V input, coated circuit board and installed plug-in modules must match the original machine configuration.
The rated power is 0.45 kW.
The drive provides 2.3 A continuous output current.
The specified peak output current is 7.8 A.
Yes. It supports single-phase 110–230 V AC input within the specified voltage tolerance.
Yes. It supports three-phase 110–230 V AC input.
No. This version is intended for 110–230 V AC. Connecting it directly to a 400–480 V supply can damage the drive.
The printed circuit boards are partially coated to provide improved resistance to environmental influences compared with the standard-board version.
Yes. The integrated braking resistor is rated at 130 W continuous power and 1.9 kW peak power.
Yes. A motor holding-brake connection with a maximum output current of 1.3 A is provided.
The communication interface depends on the plug-in module installed in the drive. The drive provides three module slots, but the required modules must be verified separately.
It is a single-axis servo drive with one motor connection.
The selectable switching frequencies are 5 kHz, 10 kHz and 20 kHz. The nominal switching frequency is 10 kHz.
The maximum specified motor cable length is 15 m.
The drive is rated IP20 and should be installed inside a suitable control cabinet.
Their main electrical ratings are the same, but 8V1010.501-2 uses partially coated circuit boards. The exact material number should therefore be matched during replacement.
