1794-AENT Single-Port EtherNet/IP Remote I/O Adapter for 8 Modules

The 1794-AENT is a single-port EtherNet/IP adapter used to connect a modular remote I/O station to an industrial Ethernet controller.

It supports up to eight local digital, analog or specialty I/O modules and transfers their input, output, configuration and diagnostic data through a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet connection.

The adapter requires a 24 V DC supply and provides power to the local FlexBus backplane. It does not contain field input or output channels by itself.

Single-Port Ethernet Connection

The adapter has one RJ45 Ethernet port and is primarily suited to star networks using an external Ethernet switch.

It cannot directly pass Ethernet traffic to another adapter through a second port.

Local I/O Capacity

One adapter supports up to eight local I/O modules.

The actual assembly must also remain within the 640 mA FlexBus current limit. An additional adapter or separate I/O station is required when the module count or power demand exceeds the available capacity.
