The 1746-P2 is an AC chassis power supply designed to provide regulated backplane power for modular control and I/O assemblies.
It accepts either 85–132 V AC or 170–265 V AC input, selected by the front voltage jumper. The supply provides 5 A at 5 V DC and 0.96 A at 24 V DC for the installed controller and I/O modules.
A separate isolated 24 V DC, 0.2 A user output is also available for compatible low-current peripheral devices.
Key Features
Typical Applications
Power Capacity
The installed module load must remain within both limits:
The current requirements of every controller, communication and I/O module should be calculated before installation.
Input Voltage Selection
Set the input jumper before applying power:
Incorrect jumper selection can damage the power supply.
1746-P2 vs 1746-P1
1746-P2
5 A at 5 V DC
0.96 A at 24 V DC
Suitable for higher chassis loads
1746-P1
2 A at 5 V DC
0.46 A at 24 V DC
Suitable for smaller configurations
FAQ
Q1: What input voltage does 1746-P2 support?
A1: It supports 85–132 V AC or 170–265 V AC with the correct jumper setting.
Q2: What is the 5 V backplane capacity?
A2: It provides up to 5 A at 5 V DC.
Q3: Does it provide an external 24 V output?
A3: Yes. It provides an isolated 24 V DC output rated at 0.2 A.
Q4: Where is the power supply installed?
A4: It mounts on the left side of the compatible chassis.
Q5: Can it replace 1746-P1?
A5: It has higher output capacity, but chassis compatibility, wiring and load requirements must still be checked.
