The TM5NEIP1K is a complete EtherNet/IP interface kit for creating a distributed Modicon TM5 or TM7 I/O island.
It combines the TM5NEIP1 network interface with the required bus base, interface power module and power terminal block. This reduces the risk of selecting incompatible interface components separately.
The two RJ45 ports support shielded Ethernet daisy-chain wiring at 10 or 100 Mbit/s. The interface exchanges remote I/O data with a compatible EtherNet/IP controller and provides an embedded web server for commissioning and diagnostics.
Its main difference from TM5NEIP1 is that TM5NEIP1K is the complete installation kit, while TM5NEIP1 is only the communication interface module.
Key Features
Typical Applications
Complete Four-Part Kit
TM5NEIP1K includes:
TM5NEIP1
EtherNet/IP fieldbus interface module.
TM5ACBN1
Dedicated bus base for the network interface.
TM5SPS3
Interface power distribution module for the bus electronics and 24 V DC I/O power segment.
TM5ACTB12PS
12-pin removable power terminal block.
The downstream digital, analog or expert I/O modules are not included.
EtherNet/IP Remote I/O Function
The kit connects a local TM5 or TM7 I/O island to an EtherNet/IP controller.
It transfers:
The kit is a network adapter and remote-I/O interface. It is not a standalone PLC and does not execute the main machine-control program.
Dual Ethernet Ports
The TM5NEIP1 interface provides two shielded RJ45 Ethernet ports.
Supported functions include:
The dual-port arrangement allows the next Ethernet device to be connected without adding a separate switch at every remote station.
Embedded Web Server
The built-in web server supports network commissioning and diagnostic access.
Available information depends on the firmware and project configuration, but may include:
The web server does not replace the controller engineering software.
TM5NEIP1K vs TM5NEIP1
TM5NEIP1K
Complete fieldbus interface kit.
Includes network interface, bus base, power module and terminal block.
Suitable for building a new EtherNet/IP I/O island.
TM5NEIP1
Communication interface module only.
Requires the correct base and power components separately.
Suitable when the supporting components are already installed.
TM5NEIP1K vs TM5NCO1K
TM5NEIP1K
Uses EtherNet/IP.
Connects through two RJ45 Ethernet ports.
Supports 10/100 Mbit/s communication.
TM5NCO1K
Uses CANopen.
Connects to a CANopen fieldbus.
Requires CANopen network configuration.
The two kits use different network protocols and are not interchangeable.
TM5NEIP1K vs TM5SPS3
TM5NEIP1K
Complete EtherNet/IP interface assembly.
TM5SPS3
Power distribution component only.
Does not exchange EtherNet/IP data.
TM5SPS3 supplies the interface and I/O power circuits but is not the network adapter.
Installation Notes
Before installation:
FAQ
Q1: What is TM5NEIP1K?
A1: It is a complete EtherNet/IP fieldbus interface kit for building a Modicon TM5 or TM7 remote I/O island.
Q2: What components are included?
A2: The kit includes TM5NEIP1, TM5ACBN1, TM5SPS3 and TM5ACTB12PS.
Q3: How many Ethernet ports does it provide?
A3: It provides two shielded RJ45 ports for Ethernet daisy-chain connections.
Q4: What communication speed does it support?
A4: It supports 10 and 100 Mbit/s Ethernet communication.
Q5: Does the kit include I/O modules?
A5: No. Digital, analog and expert I/O modules must be selected separately.
Q6: Is TM5NEIP1K a PLC?
A6: No. It is a remote-I/O fieldbus interface and does not replace the main logic or motion controller.
Q7: What is the difference from TM5NEIP1?
A7: TM5NEIP1 is only the interface module, while TM5NEIP1K also includes the required bus base, power module and terminal block.
Q8: Does it support CANopen?
A8: No. TM5NEIP1K is designed for EtherNet/IP. A CANopen interface kit uses a different catalog reference.
