The 8V1010.50-2 is a compact single-axis servo drive designed for motion control systems operating from either single-phase or three-phase 110–230 V AC power.
It provides 2.3 A continuous output current, 7.8 A peak current and a rated power output of 0.45 kW. The high short-duration peak current supports rapid acceleration and dynamic positioning in compact industrial machinery.
This model uses standard uncoated printed circuit boards. It is intended for installation inside a clean, dry and properly ventilated electrical cabinet. Applications exposed to high humidity, corrosive vapors or significant airborne contamination should consider the coated 8V1010.501-2 configuration instead.
The drive incorporates a Category C3 line filter, a braking resistor and electronic restart inhibit. Three plug-in module slots allow the communication interface, encoder feedback and additional input or output functions to be configured for the machine.
| Model | Input Voltage | Continuous Current | Rated Power | Circuit Board |
| 8V1010.50-2 | 1 or 3 × 110–230 V AC | 2.3 A | 0.45 kW | Standard |
| 8V1010.501-2 | 1 or 3 × 110–230 V AC | 2.3 A | 0.45 kW | Partially Coated |
| 8V1016.50-2 | 1 or 3 × 110–230 V AC | 3.6 A | 0.7 kW | Standard |
The main difference between 8V1010.50-2 and 8V1010.501-2 is the circuit board coating. Their principal voltage, current and power ratings are otherwise the same.
The 8V1016.50-2 provides a higher 3.6 A continuous current and 0.7 kW power rating for larger motor applications.
The drive can operate from either a single-phase or three-phase supply within the 110–230 V AC range. This flexibility makes it suitable for compact machines installed in facilities where a 400–480 V three-phase supply is unavailable.
The power wiring and protective components must be selected according to the actual supply configuration. Single-phase and three-phase connections must follow the applicable wiring diagrams.
This model must not be connected directly to a 400–480 V AC supply.
The continuous motor output current is 2.3 A, while the permitted peak current is 7.8 A. The peak value supports short acceleration, deceleration and transient load periods.
Motor sizing must be based on the complete duty cycle. The 7.8 A peak current cannot be treated as a continuous operating value.
The internal braking resistor provides 130 W of continuous braking power and up to 1.9 kW of peak braking power.
The resistor absorbs regenerative energy generated during motor deceleration. Actual braking capability depends on load inertia, stopping time, motor speed and machine cycle frequency.
The braking resistor is different from the motor holding-brake output. The resistor dissipates regenerative energy, while the 1.3 A output controls a compatible holding brake installed on the motor.
The drive provides three slots for plug-in modules. Compatible modules can add:
Communication and encoder functions depend on the installed modules. They should not be described as built-in unless the corresponding modules are physically installed.
Install the drive inside a clean, dry and ventilated electrical cabinet. The IP20 enclosure does not provide sufficient protection for exposed installation.
Because this version uses standard uncoated circuit boards, avoid environments with corrosive gases, condensation, conductive dust or persistent high humidity.
A separate 24 V DC power supply is required for the control electronics. Additional current must be included when a motor holding brake is connected.
The nominal operating temperature is 5°C to 40°C. Operation up to 55°C requires compliance with the applicable derating and cabinet ventilation requirements.
The maximum specified motor cable length is 15 m. Use shielded motor cables and follow the required grounding and cable-routing instructions.
Before replacing another drive, verify the full material number, supply voltage, installed plug-in modules, encoder interface, firmware configuration and motor data.
The rated power is 0.45 kW.
The drive provides 2.3 A continuous output current.
The specified peak output current is 7.8 A.
Yes. It supports single-phase 110–230 V AC input.
Yes. It also supports three-phase 110–230 V AC input.
No. This model is designed for 110–230 V AC. A 400–480 V supply can damage the unit.
No. It uses standard uncoated printed circuit boards.
The 8V1010.501-2 has partially coated circuit boards. Their primary input voltage, continuous current and rated power are the same.
Yes. The integrated braking resistor is rated for 130 W continuous power and 1.9 kW peak power.
Yes. The holding-brake output provides a maximum current of 1.3 A.
It is a single-axis servo drive with one motor connection.
The drive provides three configurable plug-in module slots.
Communication capability depends on the plug-in module installed. The module number should be checked separately.
The maximum specified motor cable length is 15 m.
It should be installed inside a suitable IP-rated electrical cabinet that provides protection against dust, moisture and accidental contact.
