The B&R X20SO6300 provides six type B1 safe digital outputs rated at 0.2 A. Its defining feature is an OSSD test pulse shorter than 10 µs, which is much shorter than the sub-500 µs pulse specified for the type A X20SO21xx and X20SO41xx modules.
Type B outputs are intended for actuators with a reference potential, including suitable enable inputs on electronic drives. The six-channel format supports compact multi-axis or multi-zone enable architectures where relatively low output current and very short diagnostic pulses are important.
Selection still requires confirmation that the connected electronic input tolerates the specified test pulses, leakage current and wiring method.
The X20SO6300 can be used in safety-related applications up to PL e or SIL 3 only when the complete safety function is correctly engineered, configured, commissioned and validated. The achievable safety level depends on the full sensor, logic, communication, wiring and actuator chain. Check the exact hardware revision, firmware, Automation Studio hardware definition and SafeDESIGNER project before replacing an installed module.
Q: What is special about X20SO6300?
A: It combines six type B1 outputs with OSSD test pulses shorter than 10 µs.
Q: How much current is available per output?
A: Each safe output is rated at 0.2 A.
Q: How does type B1 differ from type A?
A: Type B architecture is intended for suitable loads with a reference potential, while type A uses positive and negative switching for floating loads.
Q: Can it drive a contactor coil directly?
A: Only if the contactor input and all electrical limits match the module. Many applications use it for low-current electronic enable inputs.
Q: Which accessories are required?
A: Use X20BM33 or X20BM36 with one X20TB52 safety-keyed terminal block.
Q: Must the connected drive tolerate OSSD pulses?
A: Yes. The electronic input must be compatible with the specified diagnostic test pulse and the validated safety wiring.
